Travel - another fnysegode

I must admit it, visiting a new region is always very refreshing. Both mentally and physically. To see how people differ from country to country, and even within each country, helps to bring a broader perspective on cultures and the world we live in.

In July 2004 I went with a group of friends to the USA. We started out with a week-long storm chase in the mid west, joining the Silverlining Tours company with Roger Hill as our tour guide. We didn't see any tornadoes but we core punched a hail storm, saw several impressive electric storms and even a major supercell that almost launched a tornado over Springfield, Colorado.

This picture was taken on July 3, 2004, in south-west Colorado and shows a gigantic supercell.

Here's a picture of the Silverlining Tours crew, taken near Childress, Texas, on July 2: Tim is filming, Caryn is hiding while Andrew - only a participant - and Roger are hoping for a tornado launch. But no such luck.

During the week we spent with SLT we chased across 6 states; Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas.
